PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase a quantifying speed, by subjecting a crude drug compounded preparation to an inverse phase ion-pair chromatograph using a mobile phase containing an acidic polar solvent and an ion-pair reagent and analyzing the eluate by a UV detector. CONSTITUTION:A definite amount of a specimen to be analyzed, to which a mobile phase was added, is extracted on a water bath under a reflux condition and, after cooling, subjected to shaking extraction and further receives centrifugal separation treatment to obtain an extract. Thus obtained extract is subjected to an inverse phase ion-pair chromatograph to perform analysis. As a column, a silica gel chemically treated with octadecylsilane is used. As the mobile phase, one containing an acidic polar solvent and an ion-pair reagent is used and the acidic polar solvent is pref. prepared by adjusting the pH of a liquid mixture containing acetonitrile, water and an acidic substance to about 3 by a 1N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. As the ion-pair reagent, sodium lauryl sulfate is used and compounded in the total composition of the mobile phase in an amount of about 0.1-0.5wt%. Further, UV detector is used in the titled analysis.
