PURPOSE:To readily and efficiently obtain the subject sesamin and sesamolin by extracting a deodorized sesamine oil distillate using ethanol/water, treating the resultant supernatant with a porous adsorbent and subsequently eluting adsorbed components on the above-mentioned adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:A deodorized sesamin oil distillate is subjected to extraction treatment using an ethanol/water mixed solution having =55wt.% ethanol content and the resultant supernatant is taken out and treated with a porous adsorbent mainly composed of a polymer of an alkyl methacrylate having plural double bonds in one molecule. The above-mentioned adsorbent is then treated with ethanol for elution of the adsorbed components on the adsorbent, thus obtaining the objective sesamin and sesamolin.
