PURPOSE: To moderate stress concentration generated to a flexible cup shape external tooth gear member during action in a cup shape gear type harmonic reduction gear, and form smooth stress distribution as the whole member. ;CONSTITUTION: The outer side face of a diaphragm part 32 in a cup-shape external tooth gear member 3 is specified by plural curves of different curvature disposed in such a way as to reduce the curvature gradually, so that the wall thickness is gradually reduced toward the tip side from a joint part 323 to a boss part. The wall thickness t (a) of the joint pat 323 is set to be about three times or more thicker than the minimum wall thickness t (e) on the tip side, and a thin wall part of wall thickness t (f, g) is further formed on the adjacent side to the diaphragm part 32 in a drum part 31.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
