PURPOSE: To calculate the size of a real object by detecting the positions of an imaginary object presented in the imaginary real space with a three- dimensional magnetic digitizer. ;CONSTITUTION: Vertexes of an imaginary object 111 are indicated with the magnetic sensor 203 of a three-dimensional digitizer 204 fitted to a finger of an observer, accurate shift quantities can be obtained when the vertexes can be accurately indicated even if the imaginary object 111 has a depth, and the position coordinates of the vertexes are detected by the three-dimensional magnetic digitizer 204. Position coordinate data are fed to a data processing device 210, and the size of the three-dimensional object is calculated when the photographic magnifying power is inputted.
