PURPOSE: To withdraw an adsorbent in an averaged particle size state and to effectively perform the replacement of the adsorbent by blowing air into the bed of the adsorbent from an air blowing-in pipe through a submerged withdrawing pipe to stir and mix the adsorbent and withdrawing the adsorbent by a surface bed withdrawing pipe. ;CONSTITUTION: An adsorbent withdrawing mechanism 20 consists of the surface bed withdrawing pipe 21 inserted in the upper part of the bed of an adsorbent to withdraw the adsorbent of the upper bed part, the submerged withdrawing pipe 22 inserted in the lower part of the bed of the adsorbent 4 to withdraw the adsorbent of the lower bed part and the air blowing-in pipe 25 connected to the submerged withdrawing pipe 22. When washing water is blown up to the adsorbent 4 from a water collecting chamber 3 to wash the adsorbent 4, air is blown in the bed from an air blowing-in pipe 25 through the submerged withdrawing pipe 22 and, after the adsorbent is stirred and mixed by this air, the adsorbent 4 is withdrawn by the surface bed withdrawing pipe 21.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
