PURPOSE: To provide a powerful carcinostatic agent giving specific recognition for ATP on the surface of human hepatoma cell membrane, and to provide a method for purifying the agent. ;CONSTITUTION: The carcinostatic agent, an immunotoxin prepared by binding a type 1 liposome-deactivated protein to a monoclonal antibody (or its fragment) capable of specifically binding to α-fetoprotein(AFP) on the surface of human hepatoma cell membrane. And, the method for purifying the agent, comprising a treatment of the immunotoxin by an affinity chromatography using, as substrate, a cross-linked agarose gel with a chlorotriazine pigment covalently bonded thereto.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
