PURPOSE: To enable the position of the final sewing line of an automatic back- stitch to stop, by a changeover means, at the position of an initially specified setting value, regardless of pedaling operation, and to improve sewing product quality without requirement for a degree of skill. ;CONSTITUTION: An automatic back-stitch control device of a conventional sewing machine is provided with a changeover operation means 14 which enables a manual operation for generation of changeover signals, and, in connection with this generation of changeover signals, a control means 15 which works on a motor driving means 6 to stop the sewing machine regardless of the pedaling operation of a pedal 3 when a counter 11 counts the specified number of detection signals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
