PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of operation without deteriorating compensation characteristics in the case of compensating multipass phasing by using a decision feedback type equalizer in land mobile communication. ;CONSTITUTION: This decision feedback type equalizer having frame constitution arranging known signals on its leading and trailing parts calculates optimum tap gain at the leading and trailing points of time by using the known signals. In the case of calculating the tap gain of an information signal part by interpolation using those optimum tap gain, an inverse interpolation deciding part determines whether interpolation based upon an inverse function is to be executed or not based upon a difference between a tap having the maximum gain and a tap having the 2nd large gain out of forward equalizing taps or the level of a received envelope outputted from an envelope detector 11 and an interpolation processing part 14 executes interpolation by the inverse function based upon the determined result when necessary. Consequently the quantity of operation can be reduced without deteriorating compensation characteristics.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
