NEW ALKALINE LIPASE, STRAIN CAPABLE OF PRODUCING THE SAME AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE: To obtain a new enzyme capable of manifesting sufficient enzymic activity on the alkaline side due to the optimum pH on the alkaline side and having strong resistance to detergent components, especially a bleaching agent and a protease and useful as an enzyme for detergents. ;CONSTITUTION: A new lipase. action: hydrolyzing ester bonds in fats and oils and producing a fatty acid and glycerol; substrate specificity: hydrolyzing triglycerides, especially well hydrolyzing trilaurin, tricaprin and tricaprylin; action pH and optimum pH: action pH 5-11 and optimum pH 9-9.5 when triolein is used as a substrate; action temperature and optimum temperature: 10-70°C temperature and 60-65°C optimum temperature when the triolein is used as the substrate; molecular weight: 31000 [measured by the sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic method]; effects of metallic salt: the activity is inhibited by a heavy metallic salt such as Co or Ni, etc. Pseudomonas sp.
