PURPOSE: To obtain an electroless nickel coating which has excellent adhesiveness to a resin surface and exhibits improved resistance to cracking and an increase in surface resistivity under severe temp. and humidity conditions. ;CONSTITUTION: The increase in the surface resistivity of the electroless nickel coating on a polycarbonate-contg. substrate is prevented by using two kinds of electroless nickel solns. The first soln. is the one which deposits a metal layer contg. phosphorus, if any, in an amt. up to 5 wt.% and is used to deposit the layer of a film thickness at last about 0.5 μm. The second soln. is the one which deposits a layer of the phosphorus content of at least 5 wt.%, more preferably 6 wt.%.
