Mounting device for connecting a drill bit (4) to a hand drill (1), to allow drilling through one of two adjoining surfaces parallel to and with insignificant spacing from the negligible other of said surfaces, the device comprising a rigid arm (6) which at one of its ends is provided with means (7) for attachment to the said hand drill (1) and at its other end provides a journal (8) for a holder (9) intended to carry the drill bit (4). The journalled holder (9) is connected to the hand drill (1) through torque and impact transmitting means comprising rigid rods (10) and universal joints means (11). The journalled holder (9) is offset relative to the hand drill (1) and the drill bit (4) is attached to the journalled holder (9) through a radially restricted connection means so as to allow the drilling close to and parallel to such a surface.
