Arrangement for surface measurement of the gas content in a two-phase mixture flowing in a transparent pipe (5). It comprises a laser (1) and lenses (3, 4) for creating a slab-shaped beam, a transparent cylindrical pipe (5) mounted on the pipeline (6) and a photon detector (7), situated at the focal point of the beam which is obtained when the level of cavitation (void ratio) is zero. Increasing the level of cavitation causes deflections of some of the rays and a progressive decrease in the focusing and in the signal measured, so that the gas level can be evaluated by a regression method.
