A method of reducing the phenomena of destruction or damage to the interface of two media, liquid or solid, particularly at the interface of a liquid medium and tissue of a living being, or interface of a liquid medium and a solid medium in particular a membrane, or at the interface of a solid medium, in particular a membrane and a tissue of a living being and an apparatus comprising application. The apparatus includes a pressure wave generating device (12) equipped with a membrane (16) defining a cavity filled completely with a coupling liquid (18). According to the invention, the inner surface (19) and outer (20) of the membrane (16) is coated or covered with an agent (24) reducing the destruction or damage to the interface, preferably consisting of a silicone oil . The invention finds application in the pressure wave generation devices for performing extracorporeal treatment without destroying phenomenon associated lesion or even the greatest power.
