Shedding has a revolving cam attached to the crankshaft to operate carrier(s). This drives endless connectors upo-and-down, with healds attached, to open and close the warp shed, and alternate. The crankshaft (1) has a cam at the end in the form of a recess in which a roller (4) moves from top position (2) to a bottom position and in so doing, the wheels (6,7) move with the carrier (5), up-and-down. A series of cables (8) pref. surround each wheel arrangement, fixed at the machine (9) and rising to a top wheel (11), descending to the bottom wheel (12), and back to the carrier (5), and fixed to the machine (10). This operates the healds (13,14) with eyelets (15,16) and warp threads (17), creating a shed (3) between reed and ring (18). USE - Used to form a shedding motion, to lift one set of warp threads to allow a shuttle to pass through, with a rapid alternation to allow other shuttles to pass, with weft interweaving the warp.
