The music teaching system uses a member of relatively simple cassette players, all of which are linked to a common operating device, the cassette bands being synchronised via address markings which are read independently of the tape velocity to control switching of the signal sources and provide correct playback of the signal components. The acoustic signals may be synchronised with image elements, or position markings to provide an indication of the corresponding musical notes, or the musical timing. ADVANTAGE - Allows use of relatively cheap cassette players in class functioning similarly to language laboratory.
