The control pulses for the light pulses are coded in an audio player such as a CD player into a sound carrier signal. The carriers are then extra encoded to allow a synthesised effect. The control pulses for a connected interface are coded either as a digital sub-code or in an audio range normally imperceptible (19.2 KHz). The interface is an audio strobe interface where the audio signals from the player are passed on and stroboscopic light pulses are also generated there. The interface decodes the control pulses from the audio master and triggers a special spectacle with LEDs for the viewer's eyes and also sends audio signals to a pair of stereo headphones. The audio signals may also come directly from the player.
