Injection moulding tool for multi-component injection comprises upper and lower tool halves both of which are used during injection of the first and second components. The tool faces form a closed cavity which can be enlarged in a given area. One tool half has an insert which can be replaced by a second insert when the tool is opened. The replacement insert has an enlarged cavity volume compared to the first insert and when located in the tool is fed by an additional turner in one of the tool halves. Multi-component injection moulding process involving opening the tool after the first injection leaving the moulding in one half. The insert being exchanged for the replacement with a slightly larger cavity and the tool being closed again for the second injection is also claimed. USE/ADVANTAGE - For mfg. prods. using two or more component injection. The tool is inexpensive and produces better quality mouldings.
