The transverse support (4) has horizontal guideways and protrudes over the workpiece to be machined. It is held by at least one column (1) and locates a tool set. This firmly coupled to the upright column top part (10), which is vertically movable toward a lower part (9) by a hoist (20). The top and lower parts are positively connectable in several height locations. Pref. a slidable support (12,13) is secured to the column top part, transversely to the column longitudinal axis.
