The sleeved connector (3) has an outer thread to fit the female connector of the adjacent component (2) and is split lengthways into two identical halves (31,32) to provide a simple clamping action in the fitting. The sleeve is fitted over the end of the male coupling of one component and is held axially by the shaped end of the coupling. The end of the coupling has a sealing flange pulled axially into the sealing flange (21) of the other component by the action of the sleeve connector. The sleeve has a hexagonal flange for tightening and an O-ring (3) under the flange to hold the two halves together. The sleeve is manufactured with the slit 90 to 95 percent through its length and is split into two halves prior to fitting using a press tool. USE/ADVANTAGE - The split sleeve provides a simple fastener with alignment control of the two components and requires a minimum of fastening force.
