Digital audio signal transmitter serving several programme- presenting stations - each allocated to DSR receiver, using received DSR clock pulse signal for synchronisation of digital audio signals
The DSR transmission system uses a satellite transmission path reducing the transmitted digital audio signals by MUSICAM coders, compatible with the human ear. They are transmitted to a ground station via a single channel per carrier channel of the satellite transmission path, and retransmitted as a DSR signal pack to the individual transmitters of the radio transmission network. Each programme-presenting station is allocated a DSR receiver, which uses the received clock pulse signal for synchronising the data reduced, digital audio signals to be transmitted. In the ground station, the so synchronised transmitted, data reduced, digital audio signals of the single channel per carrier channels are directly fed to a DSR modulator and transmitted as a DSR signal packet to the network transmitters. ADVANTAGE - MUSICAM coded signals transmission with small number of appts. without quality loss.
