The press has a casing with a filling funnel, a press piston housing with a piston and a portal (6) with an aperture closable by a door unit (7) for ejecting the bale. The portal consists of a flange (12) with a rectangular aperture (8), followed by a tubular branch (11), forming the press chamber (10). A U-shaped guide bracket (13) for the door unit is closed towards the standing surface (14). Pref. the U-shaped guide bracket and the flange are coupled via longitudinal girders at slight distance from and outside the tubular branch. USE/ADVANTAGE - For refuse and other waste, with high compacting effect, applicable in underground locations.
