A burner includes nozzles supplying a fuel gas and oxygen, arranged in circles around the central tube feeding crystal powder. The arrangement forms a low temp. route through the flame for the powder. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in prodn. of low m.pt. oxides using the Verneuil process. Vaporisation of components, decomposition and reduction of metal is eliminated.
