Oximes are prepd. by catalytic conversion of the corresp. carbonyl cpds. with NH3 and H2O2, at a molar ratio of H2O2: carbonyl cpd. of 0.8-1.2, a molar ratio of NH3:carbonyl cpd. of 1.2-2.5, at 20-120 deg.C and pressure at least atmos., in water and an organic solvent, using Ti silicalite supported on active C as catalyst. ADVANTAGE - The activity and selectivity of Ti silicalite on active C are greater than those of unsupported Ti silicalite, even when activated. The process is cheap, and oxime yield is better.
