The clamp has a foot part and a pair of cooperating clamp shells (5) pivoted to the foot part about parallel axes to fit around the pipe or cable when the foot part is driven into a drill hole provided in the support wall (8). The outer surfaces of the clamp shells have support surfaces (9) or ribs lying in contact with the surface of the support wall before the foot part is fully driven into the drill hole and causing the clamp shells to pivot towards one another into a closed position when the foot part is driven further into the drill hole. Pref. the support surfaces or ribs have rounded edges. ADVANTAGE - Simple clamp with min. number of individual parts.
