The device comprises a catheter (11) with a catheter extension (12), an elongate guide probe (30) with a straight end on the opposite side to the patient for threading the catheter into the probe and an electric contact (20) for connecting the conductive part of the probe to a lead (28) for an ECG device.The contact comprises a sleeve insulated from external contact with a straight channel (22) which is open at both ends containing a metal contact element (26) in the form of a radially movable contact spring (27) engaging a stripped part of the probe, which has a conductive core (31).
