A cooking appliance for steaming of food is disclosed. A water supply line with at least one outlet opening leads to the steaming area (1). A heating element (10) around a fan blade wheel (18), which produces a flow of air, is located in the steaming area (1). It is proposed that air conducting devices should be assigned to the outlet opening in such a way that water, which flows out of the outlet opening essentially unpressurised, enters the air flow drop by drop.
