A detector module (1) is placed 100-150m along a railway line (7) from a workpiece which has an alarm module (2). The detector module is equipped with two radars (3,4) which are adjusted to detect a moving engine but not a person. The alarm module (2) has a klaxon horn (6) and is linked to the detector module (1) by radio units fed from portable batteries recharged overnight. The detection of a moving engine activates the klaxon horn (6) which continues its operation until the engine stops. Low battery charge also operates the klaxon horn. USE/ADVANTAGE - Eg for harbour, river and road workers to alert in case of approaching vehicle. Extremely reliable, readily portable and improves the productivity of workforce.
