Microprogram control system for data processing systems - uses multiple microprogram processors each with arithmetic unit, memory and control registers

The system uses at least two microprogramme processors, each equipped with arithmetic units, memory containing instructions for the arithmetic unit, registers to store the current micro instruction and conditional registers to store state information. When a microprogram is launched the primary processor stores the launch instruction and the launch address in a register and sends the data to the secondary processor. The secondary processor reads one line of the microprogramme from memory at the address given by the primary processor. ADVANTAGE - High speed processing of microprograms without individual cancellation circuits and reduced memory requirements.
