Automobile vehicle gear change linkage - includes control bar operated by gear change lever, with bar end pivoted to small transversal rod end and other end connected to first gear box lever
The gear box (26) linkage has a longitudinal control bar (22) operated by the gear change lever. The bar end (23) is pivoted (21) to a small transversal rod (30) end (32), the other end of which connects to the first gear box lever (28). A second gear box lever (60) is connected (58) to a second small rod (56), pivoting (54) on a return lever (48) arm. This return lever pivots on axis (X-X), perpendicular to the control bar, its second arm (46) joined by universal joint (42,44) to the control bar. This bar end (23) pivots on axis (Y-Y), parallel to the other axis (X-X). ADVANTAGE - Improved life, with reduced wear and play, compared with others, which lose lubricant, causing universal joint wear.
