The instrument consists of a peri-dural needle which has a base (1) with a threaded end and rigid fins (2), and a spinal needle (3) in two sections - an intermediate section which slides inside the peri-dural needle, and a metal end section which is shorter and of smaller diameter. The intermediate section can be made from a hard, semi-rigid or supple plastic, and the metal end section has a length of 15 mm and a diameter of over 27 Gauge. The length of the intermediate section is the same as that of the peri-dural needle, i.e. 75 and 105 mm. ADVANTAGE - Improved medullary anaesthesia for all types of patients, regardless of age, without risk of complication.
