The machine comprises a frame (1) with a trench-cutting implement such as an excavator wheel (7) or a chain and bucket system, a hopper (19) with one chamber (20) containing a draining material and equipped with an outlet (21), and a regulator (23) to control the thickness of the draining layer placed in the trench (22). A second chamber (41) in the hopper, situated to the rear of the first also has an outlet (42) and regulator (43), and is designed to fill the upper part of the trench with a stabilising material, turf or compost for seeding. The hopper's second chamber can contain a mixture of compost, seeds and fertiliser, or a seed drill can be mounted behind it. ADVANTAGE - Fills trench with draining material and lays turf or sows seeds, where appropriate, in a single operation.
