The storage unit has drawers (6) which are mounted on slides (10) and slide on rollers (5). Each drawer is moved by a handle (3) which moves it in either direction from a central closed position by a distance of at least half the length of the drawer. The handle is mounted on a pivoting plate (11) which move a rod to unlock a lock (4) on the opposite end of the drawer. A spring returns the handle to its initial position. The movement of the drawers is limited by stops fixed under the drawer and plates (16) fixed under the slides. USE - Storage unit with drawers opening in two sides.
