The invention relates to a ball detector for electric billiards. BR/ The sensor comprises a sensor (8) for indicating by a signal the passage of each ball along a path (2), and a sensor (12) for producing a signal only when the ball crossing it is in a ferromagnetic material. The microprocessor of the game can thus determine whether the ball passing through the sensors (8, 12) is made of ferromagnetic material or not.
