Method of computer-aided processing of geometrical constructional objects (CAD models)

Model data and relations are constantly retrieved, modified and stored and freed memory locations are processed during the model working process, and data from CAD models which are already generated, and which are stored e.g. in a hard disc data file, can be read into a model data structure to be processed for common further processing. The model data and relations are structured in a particular manner and partial structures are formed, which are each bounded by a start and an end address and the start address together with the end address and the associated partial structures are stored separately and can be retrieved separately. The method is carried out in a CAD workstation which additionally comprises a functional memory system, which consists of a functional access control, a structure processor, a table memory and a word-organised model data memory, as well as a buffer stage and a bush interface for coupling the functional memory system to the system bus of the CAS workstation.
