PURPOSE:To provide a chrominance signal recording circuit capable of preventing the deterioration of the SN ratio of a reproduced carrier chrominance signal at the time of reproducing a signal with the carrier chrominance signal is in a low level at the time of recording the signal. CONSTITUTION:The maximum value of a carrier chrominance signal outputted from an ACC amplifier circuit 2 for fixing the level of a burst signal included in a carrier chrominance signal to be recorded is detected by a peak holding circuit 20 and a control signal corresponding to the maximum value is supplied to a voltage control amplifier circuit 40 for amplifying the carrier chrominance signal through a low pass filter (LPF) 30. The circuit 40 is controlled at its gain by the control signal so as to amplify a carrier chrominance signal from a low level to a medium level at its large gain and amplify a carrier chrominance signal from the medium level to a high level at its small gain.
