A hinge for the articulation of a door or flap onto a supporting wall of a body part consists of a pivotable hinge part and of a hinge arm, fastenable to the supporting wall via a supporting plate, which are connected to one another in an articulated manner by means of two links. To make it possible to open the door or flap wide without obstruction even when the latter, for example, has a large thickness or is equipped with decorative strips, the hinge arm (6) is held movably at one end on the supporting plate by means of a guide (35,39). One of the two links (3) is extended beyond the hinge pin (4) supporting this on the hinge arm (6) and is connected in an articulated manner to the supporting plate in the region of the free end of the extension (11), so that, during a pivoting of the pivotable hinge part (1), the hinge arm (6) is displaced in its guide and is additionally pivoted.
