COUPLING CONSTRUCTION BETWEEN EXTENDED-NIP ROLLS AND METHOD FOR INTERCONNECTING EXTENDED-NIP ROLLS

PURPOSE: To provide a new method and a new solution for a device for connecting press rolls to each other in an extended-nip press. ;CONSTITUTION: In a coupling construction between extended-nip rolls 11, 10, one side roll 11 in the extended-nip press has a loading means, desirably a loading shoe, which loads a belt mantle to press the belt mantle toward the other roll 10 of the press nip, thereby detachably connecting the extended-nip press roll 11 and a back-up roll 10. The coupling construction between these extended-nip rolls 11, 10 has pivotably linked tie members, thereby detachably connecting the extended-nip rolls 11, 10 to each other via those bearing housings and connecting the tie members to either one of the bearing housings of the extended-nip press, i.e., the upper or lower one.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
