STOPPING DEVICE FOR ELEVATING/SINKING 'SHOHJI' (SLIDE PAPER DOOR OF JAPANESE STYLE)

PURPOSE: To provide a 'shoji' a Japanese styled slide door paper stopping device which can stop a Japanese style slide door of paper elevating and sinking in any desired position steplessly by single-hand handling, is embodied in a comparatively simple and small structure, and is manufacturable at a low cost. ;CONSTITUTION: A Japanese style slide door of paper 20 elevates and sinks, being fitted in the inner guide grooves 14b furnished in the left and right frames 14 of a window, and brake levers 34 stretching laterally at the upper left and the upper right corner of the slide door swingably in the vertical direction are installed in such a way as stretching laterally at the upper left and the upper right corner of the slide door and energized upward by respective springs 37. A brake shoe 36 is secured to the tip of each brake lever in such a way as inclining to the plumb and contacting both of the inner bottom plate 14c and outer bottom plate 14f, when the lever is in upward rotating, and as released when the lever is in downward rotating. Through a holding link 40, the lever is held by a grip furnished on that side of the upper frame member nearer the person to operate it.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
