METHOD FOR GENE DIAGNOSIS OF RICE CYTOPLASMIC MALE STERILITY RECOVERING LINE

PURPOSE: To obtain a new cytoplasmic male sterility recovering gene useful for genetically diagnosing the presence of a rice cytoplasmic male-sterile character. ;CONSTITUTION: This method for diagnosing the presence of a rice cytoplasmic male-sterile character is to use a base sequence of 1137bp, having a base sequence expressed by the formula and specific for a cytoplasmic male sterility recovering line related to a cytoplasmic male sterility recovering gene in the rice cytoplasmic male sterility recovering line. The base sequence is obtained by carrying out the polymerase chain reaction(PCR) of a genomic DNA of a male-sterile rice T65-R line with combined random amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) primers of GAGGGAAGAGG and GAGGGAAGAGC and isolating the amplified specific fragment of 1.1kb according to an agarose gel electrophoresis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
