MODULE HERMETICALLY PENETRATED WITH OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE: To provide a module hermetically penetrated with the optical fiber with which handling is easy by realizing the hermetic sealing performance inside and out of a protective pipe as a structure of housing the optical fiber into the protective pipe for the purpose of mechanical protection and passing the optical fiber into a module body with high reliability. ;CONSTITUTION: Resins are injected through notched parts 8 of the protective pipe 7 itself into the protective pipe of the structure formed by passing the protective pipe 7 inserted and housed with the optical fiber 4 into the module body 1 and filling the resins into the module body 1 to provide the hermetic sealing 2, by which internal hermetic sealing weirs 12 are held in the protective pipe 7 itself. The need for hermetic sealing of the end of the protective pipe 7 extending from the end of the module body 1 is eliminated and the need for the special structure for a terminal connector is eliminated. The internal hermetic sealing weirs 12 are disposed in multiple stages at specified intervals in the longitudinal direction of the protective pipe 7 part to be hermetically sealed within the module body 1, by which the high hermetic performance is assured. These sealing weirs are formed between spacers 11 disposed before and behind the notched parts so as to face these parts within the protective pipe 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
