PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for providing a desirable identification reference between allowable reaction moment and dangerous reaction moment related to a rotation accident through the improvement of a conventional tool device and permitting early operation of a safety device and an interrupting device to heighten the safety of a hand tool device. CONSTITUTION: A method and a device for avoiding an accident consequent to the seizure of a tool in a hand tool device using a rotary tool such as a hammer drill are based on a conception of precalculating the predicted rotational angle of the device at the time point of seizure on the basis of measurement of an operating state at the time point of seizure using a rotation sensor 1 which is an acceleration absorber. If the rotational angle larger than the predetermined maximum rotational angle is predicted by the 'look-ahead' calculation of the rotational angle, an interrupting device is actuated before reaching the maximum rotational angle.
