METHOD FOR PREVENTING HALITOSIS BY MICROORGANISM AND MATERIAL CAPABLE OF PREVENTING HALITOSIS

PURPOSE: To provide a method for suppressing the growth of putrefying bacteria, using food residues, etc., in the oral cavity as a nutrient source and causing halitosis by a microorganism and obtain a material therefor. ;CONSTITUTION: This method for preventing the halitosis is to colonize a microorganism capable of suppressing putrefying bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis Kubota(BSK) bacterium in a porous material containing many voids such as adsorbent cotton or a resinous expanded material, keep the resultant porous material in the oral cavity and thereby suppress the growth of the putrefying bacteria by the action of the microorganism. Besides the preparation of the porous material in which the BSK bacterium is colonized, the porous material or a particulate material 6 containing the BSK bacterium, etc., is housed in a capsule 5 such as gelatin so as to perform the suppressing actions on the growth through saliva by the microorganism discharged from holes formed on the peripheral surface of the capsule.
