POINT-TO-STRAIGHT LINE DISTANCE MEASURING CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To provide the point-to-straight line distance measuring circuit which can finds the distance between a point and a straight line while suppressing the power consumption low without increasing the circuit scale by using an analog circuit which is high in reliability. ;CONSTITUTION: The point-to-straight line distance measuring circuit which inputs voltages corresponding to the coordinates of the point on plane coordinates and parameters showing the straight line and finds the distance between the point and straight line finds the distance between the point and straight line according to specific algorithm by using multiplying circuits MULi and squaring arithmetic circuits SQi which convert voltages into time by logarithmic conversion using analog circuits, add and subtract the converted times, and convert the results into voltage levels by exponential conversion to find the product and square of the voltage levels, and adding and subtracting circuits ASi which finds the sum and difference between the voltages by using capacity couplings Ci and inverting amplifiers AMPi.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
