The yarn is designed for the textile industry. It is effective, having different configuration along its entire length and across its section, the free threads are engaged strongly in the knitted warp. The yarn consists of linearly knitted tubular base (M) in the stitches of which the free fibres are engages, part of which stick out, and another part inward, into the cavity of base (M). The method includes catching of the free fibres by individual connecting threads which are knitted. The fibres are produced from roving which is defibred in the kind of felt by means of carding devices (206). The device consists of at least one device (210) feeding roving, connected by at least one revolving carding device (206). To the latter a cavity (214) is machined for the transportation of the already formed free fibres around which a connecting chamber is formed, and the needles (262) are fitted in its operational zone of a tubular fabric knitting machine for knitting the tubular base of the thread.
