A device for energizing flashing or non-flashing, low- consumption, votive lamps designed for daytime and night time operation and possessing a high degree of autonomy is described, said device comprising a luminescent diode driven so as to emit continuous or intermittent light via a photoelectric converter and an accumulator battery. The current supply to the luminescent diode is controlled by means of an inverter-bridge arrangement, the operating frequency of which may be determined, by means of an adjustable oscillator, in a range of between 15 and 25 Hz.
