The game consists of a polygonal chessboard 10, in particular in the shape of a regular hexagon, having shallow hollows 1, in particular 96 in number, which are equilateral triangles in plan view, each hollow having three faces 1', 1'', 1''' in the form of isosceles triangles, arranged and positioned essentially like the faces of a regular dodecahedron, and also reproducing the same angles of a dodecahedron, and of polyhedral bodies 2, in particular dodecahedral in shape, which can be placed in the hollows 1 in several positions and bear, on each of their twelve faces, conventional point symbols, for example 0, 1, X, and/or are colour-coded. Each of the symbols, on each dodecahedron, is repeated four times. The three-dimensional structure of the game 10, 2, which requires a certain amount of space for the pieces that go to make it up, is collapsible, thereby reducing the space taken up, especially when the game is packed away. Both the chessboard 10 and the pieces 2 are prepared from essentially laminar structures although these are made by injection moulding. Both the chessboard 10 and the pieces 2 are each made up of several, preferably symmetrical, parts 10', 10''; 2' 2'' respectively, formed such that they require only a single mould.
