The process and the apparatus are for thetransformation of combustible pollutants or waste materialsinto clean energy and useful products. The processcomprises the steps of submitting the material to betreated to the action of a thermic lance in an airlessatmosphere so as to totally decompose it and extractcombustible gases, non-combustible gases and inerts. Thenthe thermally decomposed products are cooled and the inertproducts with water are separated. Steam is thusgenerated, which is introduced with the cooled gases ontoa heated carbonaceous mass in order to filter the gasesand, in part, transform them to obtain hydrogen, carbonmonoxide and other totally useful gaseous products.Finally, the gaseous products are cooled.
