Procedure for synthesis of peptides with the ability to detect hepatitis C virus (HCV) antibodies in the serum of affected individuals, with said peptides having the following general formula: IMAGE in which R1 represents H, R2 represents OH, or else R1 and R2 represent the same or different polypeptide chains which contain from two to ten amino acids of such a form that when R1 = H and R2 = OH then the formula represents a pentadecapeptide in which the N-terminal and C-terminal amino acids are respectively aa1 and aa15; aa4 represents Ser or Arg; aa5 represents Arg, Pro or Lys; aa6 represents Gly, Gln or Thr; aa7 represents Asn, Asp or Lys; aa10 represents Ser, Phe or Thr; aa11 represents Pro or Asn; aa12 represents Thr, Gly or Arg; and aa1, aa2, aa3, aa8, aa13, aa14 and aa15 each represent any of the 20 possible natural amino acids, characterized by the following operations: (a) functionalization of the resin, (b) binding of the first amino acid to the functionalized resin, (c) assembly of the remaining amino acids, (d) excision of the peptide from the resin, and (e) purification of the peptide.
