An anti-receptor formulation for the vitamin B12 / transcobalamin II receptor is described. Anti-receptor preparations antagonize or regulate the vitamin B12 / transcobalamin II receptor, causing cell depletion of vitamin B12 to prevent or inhibit cell division. The anti-receptor preparations of the present invention include proteins, peptides and organic small molecules such as antibodies and antibody derivatives. In a preferred embodiment, the anti-receptor preparation is an antibody to the vitamin B12 / transcobalamin II receptor.
