Disclosed is a method for detecting the cross-linking degree of a high-impedance polymer material during the pre-curing step. The sensor supplies the test signal 20 to the polymeric material 21 and also to the fixed resistance reference material 22 to generate an output voltage 27 indicative of the impedance of the sample. The initial output corrected with the reference and subsequent voltage differences was chosen as the relative indicator of cross-linking occurring in the polymeric material.
